There are things people usually wouldn’t think of doing and all of them require imagination and resourcefulness. Resourcefulness is seeing where you want to go and taking the first step. Resourcefulness is taking whatever is beside you and creating something from it. It’s the ability to make something new and imaginative.
When it comes to events and activities here in Stonyhurst Southville International School, they aim for students to use their skills, imaginations, and resourcefulness. They don’t want you to buy already made costumes or accessories, they want you to make them. They encourage you to take what’s already around you and create something from it, that’s why they introduced the Paper Drive campaign. In this particular campaign, each class is required to make a paper drive out of things around them which is expected to last the whole school year. This campaign shows off the student’s creativity and resourcefulness. Another event that encourages students to use their creativity and resourcefulness is the Royal Mufti Day where a rubrics for “how to win Best Royal Mufti” is given out – resourcefulness being 15% of it. As a person who won Best Royal Mufti for High School this school year, I can I say that when you want to be resourceful and create something and you put your heart into what you’re doing, it will come out right and sometimes even better than you expected. A feeling of fulfilment and artistry will fill you.
Whether it’s something small or big, creativity and resourcefulness is a great step towards a positive change.
